ZUCCHERO “SUGAR” FORNACIARI celebrates his birthday tomorrow, Wednesday September 25th, with lots of exciting news!
Friday September 27th sees the digital release of the new single “AMOR CHE MUOVI IL SOLE“, a cover of The Killers’ “My Own Soul’s Warning“, enhanced by Zucchero’s Italian adaptation of the lyrics. He previewed the song live last summer for all the fans who attended his Italian “Overdose D’Amore” stadium tour, and the single “Amor Che Muovi Il Sole” talks about love in its universal form, describing it as a cosmic force capable of moving the sun, the stars and the oceans. Love, in this new version, is interpreted by Zucchero as a vital energy, giving meaning and order to the world.
«Non posso più sopportare un mondo senza l’amore che tutto muove (“I can no longer bear a world without a love that moves everything”) – states Zucchero – This is the meaning behind “Amor che muovi il sole”, which is not a literal translation of The Killers’ “My Own Soul Warning”, but an adaptation I have done to make the song sound good in Italian in my own unique style. In-gioia (enjoy)».
The single is taken from the new album “DISCOVER II” (EMI / Universal Music Italia),out on November 8th on both physical and digital formats. In this new project, his second covers album, Zucchero reinterprets a number of songs which he has dearly loved during the course of his life, making them his own. The album will be released on CD and DOUBLE LP, and there will be limited edition autographed copies, coloured vinyl and a special deluxe numbered box set (CD + TRIPLE LP) with 5 bonus tracks, exclusively available at the Universal Music Italy online record store.
Moreover, from Tomorrow Wednesday September 25th, the documentary film “ZUCCHERO – Sugar Fornaciari” will be available on Amazon, Apple and Google Play in North America and English-speaking countries. It will be released on the said platforms in Italy and Latin America soon. The film recounts an extraordinary story through the words of the artist and those of his colleagues and friends, a journey of the soul which, thanks to images taken from Zucchero’s private archive and from his “World Wild Tour”, goes beyond a portrait of a successful musician to explore the uncertainty and fragility of the man himself.
