He participated as the star guest in the Polish and Swedish dates of the“Night Of The Proms”, singing: “Il Volo”, “Vedo Nero”, “Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman)”, “Miserere”, “Baila (Sexy Thing)”, “Diavolo In Me” and, with a number of other guests, “Heroes”

The new album “BLACK CAT” was released in four different versions; Italian, International, Spanish and Asian. The record was produced by Zucchero, Don Was, Brendan O’Brien and T Bone Burnett and features the following musicians: Zucchero, Max Marcolini, Federico Biagetti, Jim Keltner, Matt Chamberlain, Nathan East, Lenny Castro, Darrell Leonard, Lester Lovitt, Ira Nepus, Thomas Peterson, Joe Sublett, Davide Rossi, Leslie Sackey, Cheryl Porter, Jennifer Vargas, Arthur Miles, Tim Pierce, Eddy Mattei, Brendan O’Brien, Jamie Muhoberac, Tomoyasy Hotei, Mark Knopfler, Greg Leisz, Patrick Warren, Gene Cipriano, Stephanie O’keefe, Colin Linden, Jerry Douglas, Russell Pahl, Barry Bales, Jay Bellerose, Louis Pardini, James McCrary, Kurt Lykes, William Maxwell, Michael Finnigan, Jimmy Wood, Mike Piersante, Linda McCrary, Alfie Silas, Lisa Stone, Melodye Perry, Jason Morales, Alejandro Sanz, Mark Goldenberg, Stavros Ioannou, Nils Ruzicka, Aaron Sterling, Matt Combs, Jason Carter, Alfie Silas, Pattie Howard, Lisa Stone. He presented the radio programme “Hit Parade” broadcast on RaiRadio2

He was the first Italian singer to appear on the UK programme“Later… with Jools Holland” broadcast by BBC Two. He sang “Ci Si Arrende” and announced to British viewers that he would be performing two concerts at the Royal Albert Hall

He performed in Japan for the first time at the Roppongi Hills Arena with the famous guitarist Hotei Tomoyasu

He was presented with an award by Carlo Conti and Vanessa Incontrada during the Wind Music Awards in Verona

A guest at their concert in Zagreb, he sang “Così Celeste”, “Partigiano Reggiano” and “Baila (Sexy Thing)” with the 2Cellos

A guest at the International Ischia Global Festival, he received the “Ischia Humanitarian Award” from Kerry Kennedy, and he presented Dionne Warwick with the “William Walton Music Legend Award”

During a special pogramme broadcast by RaiUno he sang “Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman)” with Paul Young, “Miserere” and “Guantanamera (Guajira)” with Andrea Bocelli, “Luce (Tramonti A Nord Est)” with Elisa, “Un Piccolo Aiuto (Un Petit Coup De Main)” with Gerard Depardieu, “Diamante” with Francesco De Gregori, “Vedo Nero” with the 2Cellos, “Overdose (D’Amore)” and “Hey Lord” with Cheryl Porter & the Halleluiah Gospel Singers

A guest at the Celebrity Fight Night, organised by Andrea Bocelli in Florence, he sang “Miserere” with Andrea Bocelli and “Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime”

With eleven sold out shows at the Verona Arena, he began a tour that would take him to many of Europe’s major cities. The band that accompanied him was as follows: Polo Jones (bass), Kat Dyson (guitar and backing vocals), Brian Auger (Hammond C3 organ), Doug Pettibone (steel guitar), Queen Cora Dunham (drums), Nicola Peruch (keyboards), Adriano Molinari (drums), Mario Schilirò (guitar), Andrea Whitt (violin), Tonya Boyd-Cannon (backing vocals), James Thompson (sax), Lazaro Amauri (trumpet), Carlos Minoso (trombone)

A commemorative box set entitled “Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari Vinyl Collection” was released, a definitive collection featuring his 13 studio albums reissued in coloured 180g vinyl, two seven-inch singles, a t-shirt and a book

The first part of the tour drew to a close, having seen guests such as Hotei Tomoyasu, Paul Young, Cheryl Porter & the Halleluiah Gospel Singers, 2Cellos and Marco Borsato

He made guest appearances at Hotei Tomoyasu’s shows at the NHK Hall in Tokyo, singing: “Partigiano Reggiano”, “Ti Voglio Sposare” and “Iruben Me”

The “BLACK CAT DELUXE EDITION” was released, a special box set containing two Cds and a DVD. On the first CD there is the Italian version of the album + four bonus tracks, while the second CD is entitled “25.09.2016 – Black Cat Live from Verona”, and features all the songs from the album performed live at the Verona Arena. The DVD “Black Cat Videos + EPK” features videos for all the songs on the album and a special EPK in which Zucchero talks about the record.

2017

He returned as an international special guest to the Festival of Sanremo. He sang “Ci Si Arrende” with the orchestra and followed with “Partigiano Reggiano” and “Miserere” accompanied by Hotei Tomoyasu (guitar), Queen Cora Coleman (drums), Chris Stainton (piano) and Max Marcolini (orchestra conductor)

The Black Cat World Tour resumed in the United States and Canada, before taking in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe and South America. The band that accompanied him on this adventure was as follows: Polo Jones (bass), Kat Dyson (guitar and backing vocals), Brian Auger (Hammond C3 organ), Doug Pettibone (steel guitar), Queen Cora Dunham (drums), Nicola Peruch (keyboards), Adriano Molinari (drums), Mario Schilirò (guitar), Andrea Whitt (violin), James Thompson (sax), Lazaro Amauri (trumpet), Carlos Minoso (trombone)

Tomoyasu Hotei released the DVD “35th Anniversary Live – Maximum Emotion Tour – The Best For The Future”, featuring Tomoyasu Hotei’s 2017 Tokyo show in which Zucchero sang “Partigiano Reggiano”, “Ti Voglio Sposare” and “Iruben Me”

The Black Cat Tour 2016 received the prestigious PRG LEA – Live Entertainment Award in the category of “Best European Arena Tour 2016

“Black Cat Live” was released on vinyl, a live recording of the Verona Arena show on September 25th 2016

He was presented with an award by Carlo Conti and Vanessa Incontrada during the Wind Music Awards in Verona

During U2’s show at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, Bono inserted a part of “Miserere” during “Beautiful Day”

He participated in the “Luciano Pavarotti 10th Anniversary Concert” at the Verona Arena, singing “Così Celeste” and “Miserere”

With a total audience of over 1 million people, 137 shows in 14 months including 22 at the Verona Arena, the Black Cat World Tour came to an end in Curitiba, Brazil

The “Wanted” collection (3 cd + 1 dvd) was released, featuring the best of over 30 years of music as well as three brand new songs, live images from the Verona Arena shows, a docufilm complete with backstage footage, interviews and other special content. A monumental Super Deluxe version was issued, containing 10 CDs, 1 DVD and a seven-inch single.
